Signs and Food

Southeast Asia is full of bizarre signs and exotic (usually delicious) food so over the past three months we've compiled a photo collection of both:

Turns out, candel = rainbow sprinkles.

"Spaghetti: You eat your fingers!"

Sandwich stand (breakfast, lunch and dinner).

Tamarind, Anna's new favorite fruit.

Yellow watermelon.

Banana roti.

At the market

Shake stand.

The insides of a chicken.

Dinner to go.

All you can fit on one plate for 50 cents.

Noodle soups.

Tiny banana.

Giant carrot.

Jelly dessert.

Where we are now:

Railay Beach, Krabi.

  1. Hello, Lost Boy and Lost Girl!

Looks like you've found lots of Engrish! Jamie, do you remember the shirt we saw in Florence - "Not fight, but Wrestling!!!!"? I hope you got a few cryptic t-shirts to bring home.

The pictures are all beautiful and make me miss you two a lot. Luckily, I'll be seeing you (Jamie) for Passover! Woo. Anna, we'll have to wait for summer... Depending on financial stuff, I may come visit you in France.

    Enjoy the beach,

    PS Jamie needs a tan.

  2. I needed a tan but sadly I just got a burn...

I was thinking of Florence when I saw those shirts. Unfortunately, they're almost all for girls, otherwise I'd redo my wardrobe.

Are you serious about coming to France?!

  3. I'd love one of those Anything Boy Can Do Girl Do it Better shirts.

Can't wait to see you guys,
    Jamie, the Elder

  4. the moustache is tiny squid roasts, sounds deliiiiiciouso.
While the language may be cryptic, one can't argue, anything boy can do girl do it better.

I miss you guys and can't wait until summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I'm sitting here giggling over those signs and shirts. I personally like the Cost Plus t-shirt. (What??!!) You have the start of one of those funny books I love so much.

Can't believe that you'll be home in a week. WOW!! We are super excited.
